2023
Our December Social included a prayer service led by Regent Audrey Wolf, a fun game of card Bingo led by Jane Roach, great food, and lots of surprises in the White Elephant gift exchange.
We held our annual Christmas Cookie and Candy Walk after Masses on December 10th. Members Jane Roach, Danella Rooney, Audrey Wolf, Joan Gribben, and Rita Muniz are showing just a small representation of all of the treats that were available for purchase. Proceeds will help fund our projects, including our Newman Scholarships. |
We shared our annual Mass for Deceased Members with the Knights of Columbus. Following the Mass, we shared a meal and heard from Hadley Shatek and Grace Hehr, two of the students from our parish who attended NCYC. Our court contributed to help students attend. We also received Teresa Anderson as a new member.
At our June meeting, we celebrated a Reception of New Members, receiving three new members and celebrating thirteen more who were received in 2022-2023. The ceremony included a Description of the Robes by District Deputy Corrine Thompson and a Dedication Ceremony to the Blessed Mother. We were joined by Iowa State Second Vice Regent Julie Marlow, who gave closing remarks. A potluck followed the ceremony.
Seven members of our Court attended the Iowa CDA State Convention in Ames. There were inspiring speakers, beautiful Masses, delicious meals, lots of fun, and great bonding time. As one of the host Courts, our members volunteered their time and contributed snacks, raffle and "swag" bag items, and a door prize.
In April, we welcomed our local Education Contest winners and their families to share their projects and celebrate with lunch and ice cream.

Our Court again sold pie by the slice for the KC Fish Fries during Lent. Funds will go for scholarships to Newman students and college students.
2022
Projects! In November and December, we collected items for the two Epiphany Parish Blessing Boxes. Our efforts were supplemented with funds from a Thrivent Action Team project, and we were able to add hats, gloves, socks, and other outerwear items to the food and toiletry items. In December, we also held a Cookie and Candy Walk following the Sunday Masses, adding to our scholarship fund. From June-May, we provided a dessert each month for the highest bidder at Hammers & Heels for Habitat.
In November, our Court remembered our deceased members at our Mass of Remembrance.

Our Court sold pie by the slice for the KC Fish Fry during RAGBRAI's "Ride of the Century", as well as the annual Pork Loin Barbecue, October Spaghetti Dinner, and January Steak & Chicken Dinner.
In February, Valentines were sent to court members who have been unable to attend meetings during the last few years. In spring of 2022 found our court again selling pie by the slice for Lenten fish fries. We were able to fund 3 Newman scholarships and 2 for college-bound students. We were able to contribute funds to our local Crisis Intervention Services and to diocesan domestic abuse prevention projects through the Lifesaver Project. Education Contest winners and their families were welcomed and honored at our April meeting. Six court members attended the Iowa National Regents Day event in May, and our Blessing Box project received a Circle of Love Quality of Life contest award.
2021
In spring of 2021 things started to open up a little. Several Lenten drive-through fish fries allowed us to again sell pie by the slice. We were able to award 3 scholarships to students entering eighth grade and two to college-bound students. The Education Contest recognition was not held, but three students received awards. Karen Dole and Danella Rooney attended the State Convention. We were able to sell pie by the slice for the KC Pork Loin Dinner in August and Spaghetti Dinner in October. We also sold whole pies in November after 10:30 Mass at Holy Family. We donated funds to send some local youth to NCYC in November. We also remembered our deceased members at a prayer service at our November meeting. We again decorated and donated a Christmas tree for the One Vision Festival of trees. At our December Social, we celebrated a Service of Light, followed by Christmas carols, a game, and "jarcuterie" snacks.
2020
Due to the pandemic, several of our normal events were cancelled or adapted in 2020. The last three Lenten fish fries were cancelled, The Education Contest recognition was not held. We were able to sell pie by the slice for the August Knights of Columbus Pork Loin dinner, which was mostly drive-through, as well as a drive-through spaghetti dinner in October and drive-through fish fries in November. Our Court adopted the Epiphany Parish Blessing Box for the month of December, contributing clothing, food, and other items to stock the Box.

As a Circle of Love project for Spiritual Enhancement, our Court hosted an outdoor rosary in October and invited parishioners to participate.
2019
In 2019, our Court sold pies after Masses in November and cookies after Masses in December, to raise money for Newman Scholarships. Deb Ballantyne, Rita Muniz, Ann Trump, and Jan Evans helped with pie sales; Audrey Wolf, Marcia Nord, Rita Muniz, and Jane Roach sold cookies.
In November 2019, we celebrated our Mass for Deceased Members. Rita Muniz was the lector, and Deb Ballantyne lit the candles representing the members who passed away during the previous year. Our 2019 tree for the One Vision Festival of Trees was decorated by Carmen Arispe, Jan Evans, Audrey Wolf, and Karen Dole. The tree was then purchased for St. Joseph's Church for the Christmas season.

As a Circle of Love Spiritual Enhancement project, our Court led the Rosary prior to the Vigil Mass for the Feast of the Assumption. Following the Mass, a parish potluck was held, with CDA members providing bars for dessert. |
Our Court volunteered to provide a pie each month for a year for the highest bidder at the Hammers & Heels for Habitat fundraiser's live auction, raising $200! Pie #1 looked particularly delicious! Jane Roach furnished a cherry pie for September.

2018
Our 2018 tree for the One Vision Festival of Trees was decorated by Audrey Wolf, Jan Evans, and Karen Dole. The tree was then purchased for Holy Family Church for the Christmas season.
In September 2018, our Court hosted the fall State Workshops. Regent Rita and Vice Regent Deb participated in a session with State Regent Jan Grundmeyer.

In November, members celebrated a Mass for deceased members. Marcia Nord lighted candles represented those who died during the past year.

Ten members of Court Joan of Arc #152, Mason City, Iowa, gathered on a snowy winter day to tie twenty colorful fleece baby blankets to be donated to Epiphany Parish’s Baby Pantry and the local Caring Pregnancy Center.
